Characterization of phosphate wastes of Djebel Onk mining complex for a sustainable environmental management

چکیده

The objects of the research are phosphate ore rejections – industrial waste resulting from treatment by different processes (particle size separation, calcination, physicochemical process, electrostatically etc.). These discharges generally stored in specially constructed sedimentation ponds. However, its storage for a long period leads to serious environmental problems because they contain heavy and radioactive metals that affect nearby communities. They contaminate groundwater surface water through infiltration caustic solution laden with rare metals. To remedy these disasters manage concerns, it is necessary upgrade Djebel Onk complex give an added value national economy. start-up El complex, province Tebessa was 1965, since date, all beneficiation process has been dumped valley adjacent without any or recycling, should be noted generates huge quantities sludge (more than 4000 tons per day). This relatively rich useful substance. results chemical analyzes reveal sludge’s around 20.2 % (P2O5) presence such as Uranium, Cadmium, Zinc, Copper, Arsenic etc. Those threaten life local residents affects vegetation, livestock populated areas. this work systematically reviews mineralogical characterization rejected develop suitable method their revaluation. In our work, viable perspective, we try highlight use wastes alternative raw material building materials. impact on environment health determined species, concentration, bioavailability transport food chains, unless released into nature due consequences harm create. Certain elements, mercury, lead, cadmium, zinc, copper, etc., have no function maintaining body balance immediately dangerous.
